1. When operating, the road roller should be started before vibrating. The internal combustion engine should be initially set to medium speed, and then adjusted to high speed.
2. When changing gears or reversing direction, the machine should be stopped first, and the internal combustion engine speed should be reduced during gear changes.
3. Vibration of the road roller on solid ground is strictly prohibited.
4. When compacting soft roadbeds, compact 1-2 times without vibration before vibrating compaction.
5. The vibration frequency should be consistent during compaction. For adjustable vibratory rollers, the vibration frequency should be adjusted before operation; the vibration frequency must not be adjusted without vibration activation.
6. Adjustments to the reversing clutch, vibration activation clutch, and brakes should be made after the main clutch is disengaged.
7. High gear should not be used when going uphill or downhill. High gear is strictly prohibited when making sharp turns, including when articulated vibratory rollers are compacting in small circles.
8. Vibration should not be engaged when the road roller is traveling at high speed.
9. When stopping the machine, first stop the vibration, then place the reversing mechanism in the middle position, the transmission in neutral, and finally engage the handbrake lever. Let the internal combustion engine idle for several minutes before turning it off.
10. Other operational requirements should comply with the regulations for static rollers.
① Whether going uphill or downhill, the underlying layer of the asphalt mixture must be clean and dry, and an asphalt binder layer must be sprayed to prevent slippage of the mixture during compaction.
② Whether compacting uphill or downhill, the drive wheels of the roller should always be at the rear. This has the following advantages: When going uphill, the rear drive wheels can withstand the driving force provided by the slope and the machine itself, while the front wheels initially compact the road surface to withstand the larger shear force generated by the drive wheels; when going downhill, the impact force generated by the roller's own weight is offset by the braking of the drive wheels, and only the mixture compacted by the front wheels has the ability to support the shear force generated by the rear drive wheels.
③ When compacting uphill, the roller should start, stop, and accelerate smoothly, avoiding excessively high or low speeds.
④ Before compaction on an uphill slope, the mixture should be cooled to the specified lower limit temperature, followed by static pre-compaction. Vibratory compaction should only be used when the mixture temperature drops to the lower limit (120℃).
⑤ Sudden changes in speed and braking should be avoided during downhill compaction.
⑥ When compacting on a very steep slope, a light roller should be used for pre-compaction first, followed by a heavy roller or vibratory roller for final compaction.
